I am an Occupational Therapist  (through NAPPR) and a Developmental Vision Specialist with the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  I provide Early Intervention services in  Albuquerque and the surrounding area in the beautiful State of New Mexico.  'The Land of Enchantment

While working with children who have vision impairments, I have not only learned to use Braille, but  how simple adaptations such as textures, sound, contrast and enlarging, can make toys and everyday items easier for children to find, see and play with. 

Sometimes it can be a simple adaptation that opens up the visual and tactile world for a child. 

 

I began to use these concepts to experiment with designs for jewelry, greeting cards, T-shirts and home decor by adding Braille and other elements that would enhance these items by providing increased texture and visual interest.  After showing my ideas to family, friends and my wonderful team at NMSBV I found there was quite an interest and very few places where people could find a variety of items,  all in one place.

What started as a joy in trying new ideas has evolved into my passion for thoughtfully making items that are fun, exciting and have a creative flair for people who need a little extra help visually accessing their world.

 

My creations have found homes with people who are blind and visually impaired along with those of us who work in this exciting and ever changing field.  After some encouragement and a slight 'nudge'  from a great friend, I have decided to present this business to the public so I can share my creations.

 

Each piece is hand made so there may be subtle differences in similar items.  Jewelry pieces are one of a kind and no two are exactly alike.  I use Unified Contracted Braille. The exception may be children's items which have one Braille cell for each letter (unless there are extra long names on custom orders).

Almost everything I make can be customized and personalized to meet your needs or create a special gift. Names, dates and other personal information can be added to many items.  These orders may take a little extra time as they are made to order
